Hey Folks
Loads and loads of great stuff this week, but on account of Halloween is just around the corner, hiding and then probably going to jump out and scare the fuck out of you, I've decided to highlight a handful of the prime Horror-related flicks bounding onto the shelves. Keep an eye out, though, for the re-releases of a few of DreamWorks's animated flicks at a discounted price, complete with a load of extras in most cases.
Oh, and since I can't see it mentioned on the schedules, I'll have to assume that the Hellraiser Puzzle Box Collectors Edition isn't out on R1 yet. Correct me if I'm wrong, but in the meantime, why not Check Out The Duke's Reviews, Complete With Photos Of The Duke Fondling His Box.
Bill Hicks Live - Satirist, Social Critic, Stand-Up Comedian
Well, obviously this ain't horror, unless you count the truly frightening fact that The Duke didn't know this was due for release until this very instant. This is the one definite Must Fucking Have this week, though.
Just yesterday a friend threw me a copy of Relentless, the long-deleted video concerning his performances in Montreal. Now I find that not only is this featured on this very DVD, but also the stuff I already have, like the One Night Stand HBO special, the truly disturbing Revelations show from London, and the slightly disappointing Just A Ride documentary. You can bet your last lung, though, that I'll be picking this up for that Relentless show.

Dawn of The Dead - Unrated Directors Cut
If you read The Duke's Review of this remake, you'll know that it turned out a lot better than anyone expected. Now, though, it's got a load of added guts and gore, and also a few scenes concerning the "character depth" and so on.
Mark Of The Devil / The Bloody Judge
Two separate releases from Blue Underground, but the two of them make up an excellent, if thoroughly bloody depressing double-bill. Mark Of The Devil is a tale of immoral, corrupt witch-finders, which, whilst inferior to, say, Michael Reeve's Witchfinder General, is still pretty impressive. Unfortunately it does deal with a brutal rape, of a wagon-load of nuns, no less, but the anti-establishment theme, coupled with the gorgeous cinematography, make it worthwhile.
The Bloody Judge is a similar tale, albeit one helmed by sleaze-king Jess Franco. It stars Christopher Reeve as notoriously brutal witch-finder Judge Jeffries, who agrees to pardon a young lady held on witchery charges, but only if her sister satisfies his sexual urges. A fairly unwholesome barrage of demented filth and torture unfolds.

hey folks. Matt - i aint saw that particular slab of arse yet, so they're gonna hve to release about a dozen more versions if they hope to snare The Duke. maybe a special Kirsten Dunst version, with all the vampires and werewolves replaced with Kirsten Dunst. That would be brilliant, most likely.
Eric - Those are some fucking diabolical photos, but for the purposes of the "comedy" and what have you, they earner their place. Also, The Duchess remarked that i look much younger in them, so i suposse thats a bonus. Bit of a gut starting to form though. hmmm
