Hey folks.
There's a whole buncha crap on the schedule this week, but a closer look reveals a Wolf In Sheep's Cardigan type affair to be underway, since there are a half-dozen or more genuine MUST OWN's in amongst it all.
Check these gems, by way of introduction;
Gozu
I still haven't bought this, on account of I felt a bit guilty about spending so much money the other day on the DVD's and so on. Next time I'm in the emporium, however, being tomorrow, most likely, I'm gonna pick this right up.
What it is, is the latest masterpiece from Takashi Miike, with this being more of the kinda demented, skull-frying madness he's so renowned for. A yakuza type gets caught up in a bizarre, hallucinatory nightmare world, involving the cow-headed God of the title, who crops up now and again, and loads of lactation, as in Miike's previous Visitor Q. Also, there's a birth scene that a fella might need a sedative for to endure.
By the way, avoid that cut rated edition. What the fuck would a man want with that?
Star Wars Stuff
I didn't know these things were getting a release until a casual browse through a magazine the other day alerted me to the fact. Dig this;
Droids - The Animated Adventures
Ewoks - The Animated Adventures
Ewoks - Caravan Of Courage and Battle For Endor - Both flicks in one set!
What the hell more do you want? I haven't saw the animated stuff since I were a kid and so on, but I'm guessing the gushing nostalgia will be enough to level me. And of course the Ewok flicks rule.
No extras, sadly.
Now all we need is that ever-elusive and terrible Christmas Special.
The Terminal
I haven't saw this yet, but I'm looking forward to it, mostly because Tom Hanks is such a likable bugger, to such an extent that even reactionary toss like Forrest Gump appears somewhat endearing. Also, it's Spielberg, so who's gonna argue?
In other news, A.I was a masterpiece, you motherfucking philistines.
Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban
I was enjoying the hell out of this about a fortnight ago until it was cruelly snatched from me half-way through. What I could tell, though, was that it's easily the best of the three, and I gotta admit, man, those first two were pretty sweet.
