This series is a form of creative writing known as fan fiction. Detective Robert Goren is a regular character on the Dick Wolf television show, Law & Order: Criminal Intent. What follows is one longtime viewer's breath of life into an already popular character.

And she says "I've come to set a twisted thing straight"
And she says "I've come to lighten this dark heart"
And she takes my wrist, I feel her imprint of fear
And I say "I've never thought of finding you here"

Did you ever feel as though the lines between truth and fiction are blurring? Things that somewhere in your head you know aren't real start to become so lifelike that you can almost believe in them wholeheartedly. Once you believe that much in something it's like nothing anyone says will sway your opinion.

It doesn't help one bit that everyone really does see things differently. Everyone's view is a bit different so defining "real" is a bit impossible.

What am I getting out of it? What is it about an elusive serial killer that makes her occupy so many of my thoughts- both waking and asleep? Why have I convinced myself that I can smell her & in my mind it only proves that she had to have been there. Craziness, pure and simple.
