Desperate Housewives: Will Season Three Be Extra Juicy?

With Fall television just around the corner, the entertainment industry is scrambling to keep up with all the latest developments. Fortunately, most shows have a few weeks before their premieres.

Desperate Housewives has enough common sense to wait until almost the end of September to kick off season three. Although few details are known, regular viewers hope it will be an improvement over last season. Can we say "missing Emmys"?

To that end, producer Marc Cherry dropped a bombshell by announcing the death of a character during winter. Scuttlebutt is now forthcoming.

For example, Richard Burgi, the actor who plays Carl, the ex-husband of Susan (played by Golden Globe winner Teri Hatcher), recently confirmed in an interview his contract will not be renewed. What was not said was how his character would leave the show. A medical malpractice suit, perhaps? After all, it would fit the two-timing dentist perfectly.

James Denton, seen each week as Mike the plumber, has told TV Guide reporter Mike Ausiello the person who winds up dead in November is someone known quite well in episodes preceeding the winter shocker. Although several people are presumed to be involved, Denton hinted that the victim might be female. Whether or not he was telling the truth remains to be seen.

What he said next will hardly surprise any fan. Seven characters are supposed to be killed off in the course of this new year. One should keep in mind the list could include characters not seen on the show -- someone's grandmother in Yonkers, for example. Or a character not seen often.

At any rate, tune in starting September 24!

Karl (Richard Burgi) was not a dentist on DH- he played a lawyer. Bree hired him to help her handle her lawsuit- threatening son.

So Carl behaves in an unethical manner and gets disbarred. He then leaves Wisteria Lana in disgrace.

DVD's for season aren't out until after the season is over. They are meant to remind people how much they love a show, not take the place of watching week to week.
