I've decided to become politically active. It's clearer than ever that the system is broken, and I want to do my tiny part to try and fix it. So the first thing I can do is let as many people as possible know about Democracy Now! - a daily, independent media television and radio program that is available across the United States and Canada. Find your local station or at least visit the Democracy Now website. It's a real eye opener.

If you're a Bush supporter, flame away. But there are some very suspicious aspects to this election, so if you truly believe in democracy, you should be just as anxious as the rest of us to know what really happened.

Man, I hate to say this, but that girl on "Democracy Now!" is about as frothing a barking moonbat as you're ever going to find. That show is great comedy if you can ignore the constant jabs against any authority figures.

Thanks for the heads up. I had the opportunity to see Amy Goodman (host of Democracy Now) speak last summer and she is quite powerful to listen to in person. She comes from a strong tradition of independent broadcasting. That means not being beholden to any political authority...she has not had a good relationship with either Bill Clinton or George W. Bush.
Hearing her speak about her own role as a tireless activist to attempt to keep the genocide in E. Timor from being ignored was inspiring.
Ignore the other comments previously...this entire nation originated from questioning authority. The abolition of slavery and the Civil Rights movement both originated from questioning authority...not to mention the science of Galileo and the Protestant Reformation. I suppose they were all 'barking moonbats.'
I never advocate that anyone depend on any single source for their news or information. Democracy Now is simply one source worth hearing.

I thought only Ozzy barked at the moon. I think barking moonbats would be a fantastic addition to this world. Seriously. I also agree with comment 4, 100%. (although have never heard of the broadcaster, but will look out for the show now, thank you for spreading the word Laura).
