Let me give you an overview of Degrassi's seventh season. The most important and most-go-there plot points are Darcy (Shenae Grimes), a virgin, getting raped in the season opener and Spinner (Shane Kippel) being diagnosed with cancer. Both go through intense, downward spirals. In addition, Lakehurst students move to Degrassi after a fire, graduated students tackle problems at universities and many favorites — including Emma (Miriam McDonald), Manny (Cassie Steele), and Liberty (Sarah Barrable-Tishauer) — graduate. Also, many of the newer character of season seven are now the stars of season eight. The long-awaited season seven comes out on DVD March 17, 2009.
Degrassi is one of the top teen shows out there. It's definitely one of the few that covers real teen issues and season seven is no different. The Wall Street Journal calls it "the most provocative show on television," while Entertainment Weekly says it's "addictive ... sprawling, relevant, entertaining." I personally agree with both of those comments and if you do too, seriously consider buying the newest season of Degrassi on DVD.
“A critical and popular success, Degrassi: The Next Generation is one of the most-watched teen dramas on television exploring topics and issues faced by teens every day,” said Michael Rosenblatt, President and CEO of Echo Bridge Entertainment. "Echo Bridge is proud to bring this latest installment of the Degrassi series to fans."
Plus, the DVD has features that you can't get anywhere else — bloopers, deleted scenes, commentary, a photo gallery, Degrassi mini webisodes, Degrassi "on the sets," and Shop Now! The total run time is 552 minutes.
Whether you're the biggest Degrassi fan alive, knowing every little fact from the actors' favorite animals to the characters' middle names, invest in this DVD set and complete your collection. Degrassi's eighth season is currently airing new episodes on The N, Fridays at 8PM Eastern. Don't miss out on all of the drama.
