I totally agree with Mr. Campello. The show "Cane" is just one more example of how Cubans are pictured in the minds of "America" period! It has nothing to do with acting, or racism! It is no secret that white Cubans are outnumbered by dark skinned Cubans who(BY THE WAY)even as colored as they are..are Cubans, black, mulatto, mixed..whatever..we are all Cubans! So this is not to make people believe that Cuban is a synonim of WHITE, of course not! but My point is! If you are gonna make a TV series about a white Cuban family..Why cast non-Cuban actors? Who are not white! then again...Why is it that most white cubans outside of Miami are confused with Italians?...maybe the answer, is...People picture all Cubans as dark (not even black) people. ( Most americans do not even know that there are more Black Cubans in Cuba than Jamaicans and Haitians put together)

You forgot one of my favourite actresses gina torres who because shes black is rarely identified as latina much less cubana by the masses. Plus her husband lawrence fishburne has the same kind of class as jimmy smits.
