One of the two actors fired from CSI is backtracking in a bid to keep his job. George Eads, who plays Nick Stokes, says he didn't report to the first day of shooting because he overslept.
How lame! If this is Ead's excuse, what's Jorja Fox's? It is obvious this is a negotiation tactic that seriously backfired. Now Eads is begging for his job back. Absolutely pathetic.

Any particular reason you are inclined to believe a television network, CBS, over an individual person.
The fact is you don't know the truth. CBS claims he and Jorja asked for more money and were canned when they didn't show up for shooting (i.e., CBS thought they were holding out).
Eads says he overslept and that's why he didn't show for shooting.
There is no reason for you to believe one side over the other, yet you jump to conclusions. You don't know what happened. Period.

With the exception of William Peterson, every star on CSI is expendable. Eads and Fox had best thank the Ken & Barbie Gods that they happened to be cast in this surprise TV hit.
Over-sleeping the day filming begins on an important project sounds rather far-fetched to me. They want more money, and what better time to hold a TV station over the barrel than the day shooting begins? Time is money - pay us or go find new stars, delaying filming, causing deadlines to be missed, money to be lost.
CBS called their bluff, and suddenly Eads and Fox were staring straight into the wonderful world of Jan-Michael-Vincent-Straight-to-Video-Filmland.

According to Variety, the cast members were asked to submit a letter saying they would not disrupt shooting during contract negotiations. Fox said she mailed the letter, and showed up for work, and will probably be rehired.
The other cast members apparently got raises.

Dear George,
What is this i hear you lost your job??? Surely this isn't true, if it is, then it will be their loss, and even though I am an avid CSI fan, I will not watch anymore. Nick Stokes are Marg are my two favorite characters. I can't believe this is true! For whatever the reason, if it is true, it would be a terrible mistake on their part, CSI will lose viewers. Especially me.

i hope that none of the shows are canceled. i like all of them. especially vegas. one look at nick stokes and i can't stop watching. i was very upset when they burried him alive. totally not fair.
