Dear Craig,
You never fail me, do you? Monday through Friday, you're always available to cheer me up. I appreciate that more than you'll ever know. No matter how terrible my day is, there you are. It's like a virtual hug, if you will. Will you? Hug me, that is.
Maria Bello, Jason Segel, and Cathy Belben were lined up as guests for the night.
Monologue: I was cracking up over your recitation of shopping at Target with your son for Halloween costumes. We are approaching that time of year. My son is stuck on Star Wars and wants to be a storm trooper. I miss the days when I could have him throw on some khakis and carry a snake, letting him act like the Crocodile Hunter. It was a very simple time then.

There was a bit about you in women's clothing...sigh. I don't think you'd look horrible as a woman, but I'm so very glad you're a man. All man. Roowwr!
Best line of the night: "I like pirates. It's not a gay thing, though."
Maria Bello was an utter delight! She seems so down to earth, very grounded. I've always liked her on various TV shows, especially E.R. She was also wonderful on her short-lived series Mr. and Mrs. Smith (with the always yummy Scott Bakula). I particularly liked tonight's segment of the show where she spoke about life as a working mom. Taking her son to the store to get one costume after another struck very close to home for me. My son has changed his mind a million times already and it's freakin' not even October yet.
After seeing Bello on The Late Late Show, I'm looking forward to going to see A History of Violence more than ever. By the way, director David Cronenberg blogged about some of the behind-the-scenes goings on.
