Dana Reeve, the widow of actor Chris Reeve, died yesterday of lung cancer (she was a non-smoker). Dana will always be remembered for the way she stood by Chris after his 1995 accident, and for leading the fight to find a cure for spinal cord injuries.

Kirby Puckett was not just an immensely talented baseball player, he was one of the most popular athletes of his era. The first-ballot Hall of Famer always had fun playing the game, until his career was cut short by eye disease. Yesterday, his life was cut short at the age of 45 after he suffered a massive stroke.
