Sad news for fans of WB's Charmed. According to Associated Press, the show will be left behind when WB and UPN marry and become CW Network. Its last episode airs on May 21. As a longtime fan of the show, I can handle the cancellation better now than in the past. While I enjoy the show about three strong women who use their brains and magic to save the day, the show was starting to age in the past year or so.
How will the show end? Well, last year's season finale was a good way for it to end with the girls taking on new identities so they could live their lives. However, since the show still had another year left, it was interesting to see how taking on new faces didn't work well.
Destiny has put Leo "in limbo" (he's neither dead nor alive) because if she hadn't, he would've died as Death was about to take him. Piper made a deal with Destiny that she can't have him back until the girls fight a big battle and Leo's being gone is supposed to motivate her to fight well. I hope Brad Kern and the series writers come up with a good closure so we can close the spell book on the series and feel satisfied. Then we'll have a nice eight seasons of DVDs to remember the good times (and bad).
The fourth season has just been released on DVD and the fifth is coming out in June. Three more to go. If you want more original Charmed, check out the books.
