Calling a Slim Shady jihad against American Idol

The kids of American Idol must die. Sorry. I've maintained radio silence on this show. I have avoided bad-mouthing the thing, giving it credit for at least not being some gross out reality show.

The freaks have gone too far now, however, by recording and commercially releasing a cover of "God Bless the USA"- which debuts this week at #4 in Billboard.

The Lee Greenwood song stands as the ultimate anthem of evil corporate political marketing. It is NOT a country song. It IS a Madison Avenue country commercial jingle. "I Raq and Roll" is, good or bad, a songwriter's personal expression, an expression of someone's soul. Same for the Beasties lame "World Gone Mad" protest. "God Bless the USA" however, is not an artistic statement, but a cheap piece of crassly calculated propoganda.

Putting the song into the mouths of the American Idol kids, and promoting it on the show- now that's just asking for it. Indeed, this recording amounts to a WMD against all that is true and beautiful in art. The Clarkson chick has a big record out now, another one is on Boston Public, and more are spreading their way across the cultural landscape, preparing to commit further acts of terror against truth and beauty.

This aggression cannot be allowed to stand. Strong pre-emptive counter-terrorism measures must be taken before these people turn us all into mindless zombies.

Perhaps Rand put Marshall Mathers on the earth for a reason. If he was sent here to destroy the stupid little boy and girl groups, as he famously claimed in "The Real Slim Shady", then how much worse is this American Idol phenomenon? They are infidels blaspheming all honesty and passion.

Some Slim Shady needs to take a break from spitting in our onion rings to, as Sinead O'Connor would say it, fight the REAL enemy. These false "idols" must be struck down for their heresies against all that is righteous. They are a corporate communist plot to sap the purity of our precious spiritual fluids.

Slim, the future of freedom rests in your hands.

Rand help us.
