I'd like to do this in order, but oh well, I don't feel up to going to check out another Best Picture nominee at the local theater right now. So it's on to the one nominee for Best Documentary that I've seen.
Everyone knows that this movie has problems. Michael Moore (no relation, thank Jebus) makes up numbers, distorts his sources, and ignores whole sides of the question. He also never even tries to answer the question, which he tries to sell as a noble enterprise: I'm just trying to get people thinking, maaaan! It's not noble, it's a cop-out. Next time, tell us what you think in plain English, Mike, or just stay home.
Oddly enough, it wasn't Moore's stupidity that pissed me off the most in the end. It was the stupidity of the Canadian lady that doesn't lock her doors, even after she'd been through one break-in. "It was just stuff, eh?" Lady, this time it was stuff, next time it could be you! Or more important stuff! Lock your damn door, you nit! Somehow Moore managed to find someone even dumber than he to interview, and I wonder if that was intentional, and if so, how long did it take?
Of course this movie will win the award, it's just the sort of sneering, America-loathing liberal claptrap that the Academy loves.
This review brought to you by a former fan of Michael Moore. I really enjoyed Roger and Me at the time, and I found that show he did before The Awful Truth amusing at times.

Thanks Matty, great series. I also enjoyed Roger and Me; but that was long ago and far away. Rush Limbaugh may be a big fat idiot, but so is Michael Moore.

since when has it become a crime to point out things that you think are wrong with your own country? i absolutely love this country but it definitely has a few problems.
pointing them out makes me a "america-loathing"?
bullshit.

when you distort facts and outright lie in order to do so, yes it is

as in most right-wing talk radio?
5 - Eric Olsen
Yes, as in much right-wing talk radio. Distortion is distortion. Intellectual honesty is just that.

distortion is distortion. you are right. what i wanted to point out, separate of this fact, is that i'm just not comfortable with being labeled an america-hater just because i disagree with the policies of the government. it's kinda scary.

Who said you are an America-hater? I thought we were talking about Michael Moore, who seems to hate America. Obviously, "America-hater" is a subjective term, but when a person always seems to take the most negative view of any given situation, the cumulative weight of this record leads to the title. Criticism is fine, but also give credit where it is due.

sorry...not me personally....i was actually refering to the tendency of right-wing critics to label as "america-haters" those who might disagree with government policies.

Hey, I agree the country has a few problems. Rampant violence is one of them. Moore's (apparent, it's hard to tell) thesis, though, is that this country IS the problem.

Oh Eric. Always taking such unfair shots at the loveable little fuzzball, Rush Limbaugh. Sighhh...

Well, he isn't all that fat anymore, and he's not stupid, but....

Four years later here I am. Moore is simply a dishonest hack. He's not interested in the truth. He's interested in his agenda. That scene about Canadians was shameless if not comical. I'm Canadian and let me assure you I lock my doors. Theft in Canada is high and around these parts there's a 'Home Invasion" phenomena. Not that he really matters.

Why is it that most of you dumbfuck liberals slam Rush but never can back it up. As always lib's will say dont confuse me with the fack's. What is it that you dont like about Rush. And dont give me that drug thing. Did you know he's not fat like that whale Michael Moore. FUCK OFF YOU PIG'S.
