The audio tracks do not disappoint either. The 5.1 channels of sound are clear enough to capture the flutter of every wing. Listening to the disc with a surround-sound system placed us right in the middle of Pixie Hollow along with all the characters.
As for the disc itself, both the Standard-definition (SD) and Blu-ray disc (BD) versions are chock full of goodies. Exclusive bonus features include a set top game, a behind-the-scenes “making of” featurette, deleted scenes, and more. The folks at Disney have put together a portal called BD-Live Network with exclusive content just for their Blu-ray viewers. As part of this community, you can access movie chats, challenges, trivia, celebrity video events, user generated games, IMs, and email. Join their Disney Movie Rewards program and as the points add up you can win Tinker Bell wallpapers and exclusive virtual jewelry your own fairy can wear online.
I’ve put together my own special viewing panel of experts. And by that I mean first and second graders who are already much more savvy about the whole interactive thing than I ever will be. We'll explore this exciting new movie/media experience together. So stay tuned and see what happens.
