Since when is tap not considered a refutable dance form? I think the competition would truly separate the wannabees from the real dancers if tap was a category.

I just want to know .. I like this show and enjoy watching people dance.. or not dance. But why .. why do the judges have to go over and beyond to be cruel to the people they think were bad? It's like it's enuf to say they suck or they're not right for this competition, but to say they're hidious and you're going to give them nightmares now and just over and beyond than what they have to, to make a point. Why be so hurtful? People dance because they enjoy it, and they really try... but if they suck, fine. So be it and say it if you have to that way.. by why do they have to be so much meaner than that? That's the only reason,if I stop watching this show, it would be the reason I stop. I really enjoy peoples' styles though, so I dn't want to, but I'm getting offended myself, and I'm not even trying to dance for them. I dont' get it. Do the people get warned first that they might be humiliated by them on public TV? If so.. then okay... they were warned... but it doesn't look like they were.. and that offends me. I feel for them. And I'm sure a lot of people feel that way about the judges.. theyre' way worse then Simon Cowell. WAY MEANER, CRUELER.. and with no reason. I wish someone could enlighten me on this ..please.

I agree. I have had it with the cruelty of this show. If the producers don't want people who can't dance, then don't have an open call or have a non-taped prelim. All the judges make faces and laugh and insult. It is enough to say, "You are not what we are lookng for" and leave it at that. Even the host insults people and the show uses tape pieces to make fun of contestents. This show is snarky and smart -ss
If it was about dance, they would show more people that pass on to Vegas rather than those who are freaks.
If this show was about dance, they wouldn't cut cameras so much and let us see the dancers better
If this show was about dance they would stop cutting away from the dancers to show us judge reactions shots.
This show is disrespectful, smart-assed and cruel and I am not watching any more of it.
They may have some people who audition who are untalented and deluded but the show producers, host and judges are abusive and mean-spirited and have lost me as a viewer.

I agree with you Ginger. It was easy to teach my grandchildren the concept of cruelty and unkindness. I just sat them down for this last episode of the show. They said, "Now grandma, we understand." It is stated before this blog, "personal attacks are not allowed". What a joke, that is the concept of the show's ratings. No more watching it for me.

This reality show is the epitome of blatant disregard of people's dreams. People working hard for years being told they are lousy and personal attacks. So what if they are not pro at dancing, they deserve respect. The judges are pro dancers, yes, but the have no respect for common decency and for the human heart.

I felt so sorry for the oriental girl that broke and cried; as I could see her being so naive and sensitive; she is in a country that I happen to love but is dog-eat-dog here and it is the buck, that is what counts. Forget emotions, dreams, kindness, and get trampled on. I absolutely agreed with what she said when she cried. And you wonder why other countries are frowning on America!

2006, I'm watching the show 'cause I love dance, not because I want to see the worst dancers vomiting. Nigel may have the power, but he's misusing it. He doesn't have the right to squash the hearts of people who love dance. He can say, 'thanks for sharing,' and move on. If he had some sense of humor about his souls assaults, it might be more digestible. As it is, no one is there to challenge his negativity and he's sucking much of the fun out of it for me.

That was not right booting off Benji. His hip-hop was comparable to his partner's. Only styles were stated to be dissimilar during the judges' critique. Maybe his speech was lacking. So what? Some people express themselves better through the dance media instead of through words. I think this is true of Benji. His dance brought drama and feeling to his audience. His fight to learn and perform unfamiliar styles {and do them well] is at the heart of this entertainment. It was a sad moment tonight to loose this dancer and break up this pair. Jamz's freestyle felled him off the stage and it lacked technique. Why wasn't that brought out? I feel Nigel is not impartial enough to be on the panel of judges. He obviously wins his own way throughout this competition including who is eliminated. The other judges appear to not want to step on his toes. His opinion comes first and he has the final word too. I have never written on any message board before but felt this audience of one needs to speak up for what is right.

Ben was eliminated. Benji is still going strong. Benji's partner is Donyelle, and Ben's was Ashlee. I agree, though, that Ben should have gotten to stay. It sucks that any of those three gents had to solo dance to try to stay. I also thought Jason's elimination was unfounded. He was AMAZING!!! I wish I could watch his and Alexandra's "smiley dance" over and over. Pretty sure this group could become a dance crew all together and go farther than any individual might. I loved it!!!
