Look-back: American Idol Salutes Old Glory Note
Last week American Idol saluted Old Glory Note---that is, Broadway---and ended up reminding me of Wayne’s World instead. Specifically, the Kenny G concert scene. As Kenny wafts magic slow-grooving sax bubbles into the air, the camera slowly pans the audience of...

American Idol - Episode 421a - No More Second Chances For Nikko
Last night, the final nine AI4 contestants took on show tunes--and lost. Losing most of all, however, was Nikko Smith. It was only by chance that Nikko made it this far at all, as his appearance in the finals...

American Idol Week 4 Shocker: Nikko Nixed and Fantasia Sings "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah"
The American Idol Week 4 results show opened with a dapper Ryan Seacrest announcing yet another voting record: 32.5 million votes cast. But what I really want to know is the differentials between the contestants. For example, did...

What is going on with America...are they all tone deaf? Someone with star quality is voted out and Anthony and Scott are still continuing. I don't think I will ever watch American Idol again...it gets more ridiculous every year. The judging should be left up to professionals who really know music and what it is all about.

I agree with your sentiments ladies, but remember that surprise and outrage are part of what make the show go

It's more about the 'brand' and merchandising opportunities than music per se! A shameful pleasure.

My husband and I are arguing over the past winners: are they not, in this order --

    Kelley Clarkson
    Ruben Stoddard
    Fantasia

and this is the Fourth Competition?
    THANK YOU for your help.

How darn you people of America elimate Arwar so soon. He is amazing and has a unique voice. He should of been in the top two. If I lived in America he would of got my vote.

The past winners in order are:
    Kelly Clarkson 2002
    Ruben Studdard 2003
    Fantasia 2004
now Carrie Underwood (whom shouldn't of win)

And I only agreed with Ruben Studdard, at least with Ruben as winner I hear more about my fav. Clay Aiken.

Season 5 is certainly shaping up to be a worth while watch.

I am not much of a fan of the audition round: too much emphasis on tragically deluded fools who suck out loud
