Victoria Justice has shined on Nickelodeon’s Zoey 101 for three seasons. She played Lola Martinez, a fun, trendy girl aspiring to be an actress. She was brilliant as Lola and really added to the show. After season four aired, the show was canceled. Now, Victoria has landed more roles at Nickelodeon.
Victoria is expected to be in the Nickelodeon TV movie Spectacular! which is currently filming. It’s about a high school choir. The rumored plot is that the choir, well, isn’t very good. But then an arrogant rocker comes along and joins, trying to win a cash prize. There will be dancing and a lot of singing. Victoria will be doing some singing in the movie. There is also a rumored romance between the rocker and a preppy girl. Will Victoria get an on-screen romance? Sounds a bit like High School Musical … but will it be as popular? Only time will tell.
Paula Kaplan, Executive Vice President, Talent and West Coast General Manager, Nickelodeon said Victoria, “is a rare kind of actress. She’s beautiful, yet takes a fearless approach to acting. Kids loved her on Zoey 101 because she could boldly take a pie in the face or just as easily tackle a dramatic scene. It is this versatility combined with her musical talent and real-girl qualities that make her someone we are excited about.”
Not only is Victoria starring in a Nickelodeon movie, but she’s getting her own TV show as well. Not much is known about the series except it is set in a preppy performing arts school. Dan Schneider, creator of Zoey 101, iCarly, and the majority of the TV shows on Nick, created the show. The show will feature original music, which means more Victoria music.
“Victoria is the real deal,” says Jay Landers SVP Columbia Records. “Besides her acting skills which are already well-known to her fans, she has a terrific recording voice. When she steps up to the mic, her personality shines through. We are looking forward to working with her and to have everyone see her in Spectacular! and beyond.”
Victoria has the acting and singing talent though. There’s a video of her singing on YouTube. She’s pretty good. I would totally buy her album. It’s good that we’ll finally get music from Victoria.
Congratulations, Victoria. Hopefully your upcoming projects are "spectacular." Ugh, horrible pun.
