I would love to have been at the pitch meeting for Beautiful Girls.
See, it's about a town of snow plow drivers, no that's not some sort of slang for something kinky, most of the guys in town drive snow plows, y'know like in New England, where it snows, they gotta clear the snow.
Think Mr. Plow, you know the jingle.
Anyways these are the luckiest plow drivers in the world. In this town, there's nothing to do but plow snow and hang out in a bar with Uma Thurman, Annabeth Gish, Mira Sorvino and Natalie Portman (okay, so she is serious jailbait, but that is part of the story).
Michael Rappaport plays the crazy one (think "Diner" without the diner and with snow plows) who names his dog Elle MacPherson and stalks his girlfriend (since he has a restraining order in real life, I suspect The Method).
Plus it features Soul Brother Two and a Half, Greg Dulli and The Afghan Whigs, doing more than the white man's overbite.

Wow, it's been a while. I actually own this dvd. Watch it every now and then. Oddly enjoy it. I still contemplate the meaning of the movie (because I'm pretty sure there is one). Must be something along the lines of whether or not one should settle for something or reach for the stars. At least that's what I think I took away from it... Still a bit confused as you can tell.
[Anyway,] I know I'm in no real position to correct people on their writing, but there's no "s" at the end of "anyway" (sorry, it's just a major pet peeve of mine).

I love this movie, it's a definite favorite. I try not to think about it too much, because the fact that I like it so well might tell me too much about myself.
Uh, I like it because it reminds me that there a far bigger losers in life than me.
Yeah, that's the ticket.
