At Last, A Star Wars Prequel That Gives the Fans Something They've Wanted (For Years)

Okay, so I'll admit that the title here was a cheap way to get you to read this article, but this is something that fans have clamored for; so, as Obi Wan Kenobi once said to Luke Skywalker, "What I told you was true... from a certain point of view."

The Star Wars prequels were a real disappointment for most of us. George Lucas and the folks at Lucasfilm let us down. But Star Wars fans Daniel Smith and Jeff Scheetz have given us fans something to enjoy, something that answers one of those lingering unanswered questions from the original trilogy: Why did Han Solo jettison the cargo that he was transporting for Jabba The Hutt?

Smith and Sheetz's short, titled "The Solo Adventures" was recently named Best Animated Film at Star Wars Celebration V.

The short film is brilliantly animated, and deserving of the Star Wars title. The voice-over work is exceptional and Star Wars fans everywhere now have the answer to that question... well, sort of.

Sit back, press play on the video below, and take in this amazing short, in all of its glory.

That was awesome. Better than the three "prequels" to be sure. Sad to say but true.

That was pretty cool. The ending was hilarious. As for animation, the Clone Wars TV show is better than any of those 3 prequel films.

Wow, that was a lot of fun. That's the right idea. I think a movie prequel of Han or just adventures of Obi with Anakin could potentiall be cool.
