Say what you want, but America is a racist country. That fact couldn't have been any more obvious than last wednesday's American Idol. The three women, formerly known as the three divas, ending up in the bottom three, while the mediocre performers ended up in the top four? George made the top three only because there could only be three in the bottom. If they could have 4 people in the bottom four, he'd be there too (to be honest, he deserved to be in the bottom four, after last weeks' performance). The three in the bottom were the three BLACK WOMEN. But I don't blame the voters too much for that fact. I blame our people. My people. We tend to not vote as rabidly as white people do. We fail to realize that white people will only vote for white people, no matter how mediocre they are, and they are trying their best to make sure that the only two qualified contenders, Latoya and Fantasia don't make the final 2 round. America wouldn't be able to tolerate that. Two black women? They made that mistake when Reuben won. Remember that big scandal? People were up in arms about that. There were threats of lawsuits against American Idol.
Rueben won, but with all the publicity Clay was getting, you'd think that Clay had won. And every black person who mentioned to me that they were pissed that Jennifer Hudson was kicked off, I asked if they voted, and they said no. I bought me an automatic redialer, and I'm voting at least 100 times, like everybody else

Leave me out of the "whites only vote for whites" category - I wouldn't watch the show even if I could afford cable again. Amateur talent shows are just not my thing.

Darnell I must agree with you on the point about Reuben and Clay. Some people were even mad because if you noticed whenever Reuben was on MTV,or any type of show Clay was like a shadow and why?, because they were pushing Clay's career anyway possible. Our people always make comments about what is fair and what is justice, thats the same 50% that didn't vote, call in, or just give their input.

I think something should be done about the host and judges showing favoritism to a contestant. It was quite obvious that the host and judges showed favoritism towards Fantasia from the beginning. Many times, she had longer interviews than the other contestants. I think the voting is rigged. How do we know that they really count our phone votes or do they just pick their favorites? I don't think you should be able to vote more than once, so another system for voting should be implemented.

The judges are supposed to show "favoritism," that is their job. They favored Fantasia because they thought she was special, and they were right as far s I'm concerned. I think the show did all it reasonably could to make the voting fair - especially keeping the phones open for four hours instead of the ususal two - but I agree that one-person-one-vote would be a better system.

I think that I have decided to never watch American Idol again. I believe that the show reveals to us how stupid we are as a society. We have three people who pretty much have decided from the beginning who they will promote and we blindly follow their lead and then are naive enough to think that we are choosing the star. And then throw in all this crap about racism. Well, they must be racist, two black winners in a row. Sound ludicrus, doesn't it? They made no mention of the fact that Decarm's monitor was turned off on her last performance Tuesday night. I did not care who won but the show is far from fair. I think that the judges should keep quiet until the next night when the votes have already been cast. That way the judges do not have any influence on the voting. And Simon'' sarcasism will fall on deaf ears, Paula's dribble will only hit her table and Randy's babble will have time to be deciphered and displayed on the bottom of the screen. As for Barino, good luck. I am not interested in buying a cd that has yeah yeah yeah at the start of it and yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, at the end. Listen to every one of her songs and you will hear it. If you don't then Simon has has you brainwashed with the other stupid sixty five million who spent there money on phone calls.Hoew many of those people have not called other family members in a while but will call Fox. How many of these people who are old enough will not vote in the election? Disgraceful!!!
