American Idol Results Deliver a Not-So-Shocking Elimination

Part of: The Fifth Judge

It should not have been a shock to anyone who saw Tuesday night's show that Paige Miles was eliminated this week on American Idol. What may have been shocking was that for her swan song, she chose to reprise "All Right Now" and hit every note. The Top 11 finding out the results.

I feel like Paige put too much pressure on herself when performing live. Because as soon as the pressure was off, she sang fantastically. Plus, I think she should have stuck to more upbeat songs. Those are the kind of songs that really made her talent shine.

This was a big week for the contestants, it decided who was going to get the opportunity to go on tour this summer. And honestly, if Idol wants anyone to buy tickets to what has got to be the weakest crop of Idol contestants to go on tour ever, those ticket prices are going to need to drop. Just putting that thought out into the universe. I don't see anyone, including myself, ready to pay $70 to see this season's Idols.

This week, the Idol results show was just ridiculous. The show kicks off with the 11 contestants lip syncing to Wham's "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go." Really? Everything about that performance was face-palm inducing.

Ryan then started the process of finding the bottom three. The first two into the group were Paige and Tim Urban.

Then we were treated to the vocal talent of one Miley Cyrus. I don't understand how she managed to give the Idols decent singing advice and then sounds the way she does when she sings live. Her performance just made me cringe.

Ryan then added Katie Stevens to the bottom three, then immediately let her know that she was safe. A little messed up if you ask me, and she's definitely not one of the contestants I pictured this week in the bottom.
