American Idol Last Night

I've gotta be honest, I really wanted Bo to go tonight once he was in the bottom 3. He should pay for his most egregious transgression--the invoking of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Free Bird" at last night's show. I would have been just as happy with Scott "Bitch Slap" Savol getting the heave ho, especially since I picked him in the pool I am in. Nadia probably went because no one had a clue what song sang last night. Note to Nadia--people like hearing shit they recognize.

I think the writing is on the wall for Bo. I just don't see him going from getting the second fewest votes tonight to winning the whole thing. And could Paula please get her lips off of Bo's ass for a minute? I am sick of her tired act.

Update--here is the breakdown of finalists. Two-thirds of my Burger King crew are still alive. Hard to believe, Harry.

In It To Win It

Nadia Turner
Carrie Underwood
Constantine Maroulis

Gotta Chance

Nikko Smith
Scott Savol
Anwar Robinson

Maybe Star Search But Not Idol

Bo Bice
Jessica Sierra

Burger King’s Hiring!

Anthony Fedorov
Mikalah Gordon
Vonzell Solomon

It's interesting - the entire American Idol voting ritual. That's all it is, a ritual. Why is no one questioning the fact that Nadia knew she was leaving last night before her name was actually called. As Ryan is doing his shtick she is already adjusting her self to get up off her seat. Then the camera panned down to her family and friends in the audience and they were already crying - before her name was called as bottom third and way before she was told she was going home. View your video tape everyone - that is what happened. I know you are all going to say I'm upset because she is my favorite - but she is not. I don't have a favorite yet. Thanks for listening.

Great point, Ada!!!! I also noticed that Nadia had a microphone beside her as she sat waiting for Ryan to announce her name, which she had her hand on, BEFORE he even announced that she was in the bottom 3!

interesting Ada. I also found it curious that Scott Savol knew exactly what he was going to sing even though he hadn't sung the song in a couple of weeks, and hadn't forgotten a note of it. Also, Paula was telling Bo that he will reound from being in the bottom 2, before they even announce that he had stuck around and Nadia was going home.

I picked Bo and Nadia to be in the bottom 3, with Nadia going home. She did keep picking the wrong songs--even after the judges had warned her about it before! And I wouldn't mind Bo going, either. With his indifferent attitude regarding the competition, when he said if he lost he'd just go back to performing with his band...that couldn't happen soon enough for me. As for Scott, I've given up hoping he'll be ousted from the competion. I think he must have made a deal with the devil to be around so long when he should have been long gone.

Clearly they have their songs picked and rehearsed - but that doesn't mean they know who's going to have to actually sing until it's announced. Althought Nadia sure seemed ready to go.

Every time Scott sings, I feel sure he's going to get the boot the next night. HOW is this guy hanging on? He most definitely should have been gone before Nadia.

Agreed, Chris. If I see Scott look to the sky in shock as he realizes he's safe, I'm gonna cancel cable, and sell my TV.

I picked Nadia and Scott to be in the bottom three and thought Anwar would be there too although Bo doesn't surprise me all that much because he really has had some pretty poor song choices these past three weeks. It's just that there is nothing distinguishing about Anwar. Every song he sings sounds the same. Why is that slug Scott still hanging around? Who is voting for him!!! He had several sour notes in the song he sang on Tuesday, the first few bars sung in the lower register were awful. He was lucky to salvage the song with the chorus towards the late middle and end of the song. He's a squinty eyed, surly boor -- certainly no idol!

I think Constantine and Carrie are going to duke it out in the final round.

re: the microphones. everyone had mikes by their sides. My wife saw Anthony with one, but then we saw Nadia and whoever was on his left had one as well. They have to give everyone a mic or else a stagehand would have to run up and hand them one. It is a live show, remember. Maybe she was adjusting herself because she knew she did poorly. I picked her in my bottom three after that performance. Actually got them all this week.

Nadia was ready to go? Who wouldn't be? She gives a mediocre performance compared to her stellar one's & she's in the bottom 3. Others give an ok performance compared to their toneless, tuneless previous attempts & they are praised.
Paula needs to go home. We knew the outcome when she ignored Nadia & praised Bo & said we'll see him in the finals!
Why leave so many duds in the finals? So the mediocre one's will shine in comparison? We knew who the next American Idol was going to be, this show is a sham.

Can someone tell me the name of the song Bo from idol sang when he was nominated in the bottom 3? Was it a pearl jam song??

Thanks for all your feed back everyone. The bigger issue here is the actually voting process. I'm not convinced that's it's all legitimate. So I'm presently in the procees of making some noise at other TV stations so that this could be looked into. I've also called the New York Daily News to see if they are interested in finding out. In the scheme of things in life I know that this is unimportant - but I don't like being taken as a fool, and I'm sure many of you feel this way also. We are trusting this system of voting, choosing, etc. But is it worth anything if it's all pre-planned? just a question everyone. Thanks again for listening. Ada

I don't think Nadia knew she was going home. Let's face it, she's been in the bottom 3 several times and she knew that her song choice killed her. I think she just had a 6th sense about it. I knew Bo was gonna be in the bottom 3 after Ryan said in the opening, "you'll never believe who's in the bottom 3 tonight." I do agree that the voting process needs to be transparent and some one should look into it.

i love American Idol! I am only 14 so I can't try out, but I am lead vocalist in my school chorus, jazz band, and in all the musicals put on for drama club. I am hoping I am a future Ruben or Fantasia.

All I really wanted to say is that in your list above, you forgot Lindsey, the first contestant to get eliminated.

How right you are ada! The whole voting process wreaks of a scam. I don't believe Bo had votes low enough to be in the bottom 3 - not that his performances have been stellar of late but in previous votes I believed, by vibe, that he was receiving a lot more votes than a majority of the others. I think that because he was one of the more popular contestants Fox decided to throw us a wingdinger and place him in the bottom 3 so that there'd be an even greater influx of calls by his fans that are worried over him getting the boot. It's all about money! You can't trust a network with as much power as Fox. They are the mafia of media.

Where is the benefit in Fox or AI in committing a scam? I don't know what show you watched, but the three worst performances were the bottom 3 this week.

I am disheartened with the whole process why is scott still there he sounds only mediocre at the best of times.I watch from australia but I am getting to the stage of turning off.after our last Aus Idol I couldn't believe the voting was real it all seemed out of order

I don't by the scam theory either El Bicho, but it makes for great fodder, I guess.

Sarah--I left Lindsey off because I could not properly chart her level of stinkiness. She didn't even make the Burger King crew.

The decision for last night was so retarted what is wrong with everybody? Anthony is such a dork and does not sing very well at all and people just like him because he looks and acts like Clay Aiken and i didnt like Clay anyways. Anthony just needs to go. Constantine was such a "hot" preformer he might not be all that cute but hes got something about his eyes when he sings that makes him so sexy and plus it might be the GREEK thing. But I really love Scott too because he is just a normal guy and Bo because he is himself. Carrie needs to go she is starting to get real old and boring but Constantine voted off was totally wrong Anthony should have been the one to go.
