American Idol Final Five -Scotty "The Body" Savol - A Statistic

After last week's American Idol upset debacle, leaving the nation without the sexy, smarmy charms of Constantine Maroulis, tonight's results show was a step closer to reality as we should know it: Scott "The Body" Savol and Anthony "Tutti-Fruitti" Fedorov as the bottom two.

Finally, Scott Savol packed his big, sullen ass up and is heading back to the land of burning rivers.

Praise the lord and pass the ammunition. We breathe a sigh of relief as the space on the American Idol stage increases vastly in Scott's absence.

What we saw:

Performing Simon and Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Trouble Water," the final five revisited a song that has had a fair amount of popularity on the show, AI Season 2 runner up Clay Aiken having recorded a successful version of the song.

Also noteworthy was the weekly Ford commercial featuring a playful version of The Specials' classic second-wave ska tune "A Message to Rudy" (from their first album), with the contestants counseling "Rudy," the dog who holds the key to their ride!

Ryan was dressed ambiguously in a shiny yellow suit. I am unsure about this choice in attire. What message is Ryan trying to send?

Speaking of messages, Paula was bestowed with rose bouquets from the contestants in what must be a show of solidarity against tonight's expose featuring the besieged judge.

Let's hope the ride from here on ends with Bo on top, flanked by the two hotties Vonzell and Carrie.

Thank you America, you finally got it right.

No time for could-a, would-a, should-a, just time to move on. Besides, Scott haters aren't rid of him anyway because he, along with the other top 10 rejects, begin a summer tour in June. At this point all of them, including Nadia Turner and Constantine have their careers ahead of them. If Scott wants to survive as a singer, he needs to do two things - lose the attitude - and about 50 pounds.

Is the public so naive to think that any reality show has not been planned out to it's finale? Didn't we learn that from Season 1?

How many years does AI have to follow the exact same pattern before America catches on?

    Pathetic.

To not have to hear him again makes me happy. I don't have to watch any of this top 10 tour bidniz.

Scott, Your attitude got you kicked out on your butt at last! I have nothing against your body--it was your highly-undeserved EGO and PRIDE that brought you down! Ever heard, "PRIDE goeth before a FALL?" Guess yo' mama never taught you that, or about being NICE, HUMBLE, and all the other virtues that you SO LACK! It was PAYBACK time tonight for dissin' the others, Scotty! I just wish the camera would have zeroed in on YOUR face tonight when Anthony was announced SAFE!! Yeah, YOU LOST, and Sane and decent voters finally won out! YES!!!!!

You ARE kidding about Anthony's voice being great right? I mean it isn't horrid to listen to like Scott's but it isn't great to listen to either.

a Bo and Carrie final would be sweet, although Vonzell is extremely appealing all the way around as well

Tell me Dawn, what do YOU look like?? Because your posts about AI seem to only be about the looks of the contestants. You have made numerous comments on Scott's weight, and seem that Vonzell and Carrie should be in the final 3 because they are "hotties." Tell me, what is your height and weight? Are you toned and in shape? Are you a "hottie" yourself??

Try not to be so vapid and close-minded. This world is full of attractive people and unattractive people. You will see some of both, so I suggest you get your head out of your ass and learn to deal with it. Moron.

Rachel, are you telling us that appearance doesn't count on a show called "American Idol"? It isn't "America's Best Singer" - appearance, and even more so, personality, are big parts of the package: "so I suggest you get your head out of your ass and learn to deal with it. Moron."

Gee, thanks for using my quite there Eric, what originality on your part.

If Dawn was bashing Scott only because of his performances, that would be different. But the only thing I read from that whacked out bitch is "Scott is fat, Scott is a lardass, Scott is a glob of blob, Scott is homely" and on and on and on. Seems to be she is going on ONLY about his appearance.

She is still a moron, and so are you.

The truth about Anthony Federov: his {ahem} sacs haven't even dropped yet! Give him a few years and then he'll be worthy of American Idol status. He's a cute kid with a voice that needs to marinate a bit longer. It'll be sad to see him go next week.

the entire animus toward Scott is based upon the fact that while his voice has a pleasant enough quality about it, he is all over the map with his pitch, he has the onstage charisma of a ground sloth, and yet he has said time and time again how flipping great he thinks he is. And all the other stuff.

What are you defending exactly? Do you think he's a great singer?

if nothing else, Dawn speaks the bald truth about the important stuff, like American Idol (and, OK, pretty much everything else)

Question Rachel: When did you stop getting beaten by Scott? (See, it's not just about appearance but violence).

  • 18 - Rachel

    May 05, 2005 at 12:22 pm

He has a nice enough voice. I didn't say a great voice, but he sings better than my roommate does when she is in the shower. But that is not the point. I am defending him because all I read is about how fat he is. And, NO, I am not defending him because I am fat myself, so don't jump to that conclusion. I myself am not fat. I am on my college volleyball team and don't have time to be fat.

I don't like to see anybody constantly bashed because of their looks, it is as simple as that. Dawn calls herself a critic, well it seems to me that she should be smart enough to make strong points for her arguments...not go on and on and on about what a fat ass she thinks he is. How can you take her seriously? A kindergartener could write a better post than she has.

No way Scott or Anthony should have progressed...who is voting for them and why.

  • 20 - Eric Olsen

    May 05, 2005 at 12:26 pm

again, Rachel, you are refusing to see that ALL factors count, including apearance, personality, disposition, interaction with others, AND singing ability. Scott fails miserably on all counts, other than that he has an okay voice.

  • 21 - Rachel

    May 05, 2005 at 12:34 pm

Here is an example. I don't like Dawn's writing, that is obvious. So I am going to write a 'critique' of her writing:

Dawn Olsen's writing sucks. If I read one more written word from that fat ass I am gonna hurl. That tub of lard can't even put two sentences together. She is a homely, ugly, self-righteous bitch who needs to lay down her pen and shoot herself.

Okay, now how professional did that sound? Not at all, right? I basically critiqued Dawn the exact same way that she critiques Scott.

Now you can see how stupid it all is, and I think a 5 year old could write a more mature post than her.

two things Rachel: 1) you don't know any of those things about Dawn, but we all know those things about Scott, and 2) when she writes like that it's called a rant and either you like that style or you don't. But she does it well.

I agree Rachel. I came on this site accidentally because I looked up that Vote for the Worst site after hearing about it on the news. Constantine was my favorite. I have never voted for Scott, but I don't feel that he deserves the ugly things that have been written about him.

I am not a huge fan of Dawn, either, and that is just from reading a couple of her posts today. I feel she is as full of hate as she says Scott is.

Rachel you are fighting a losing battle....this guy is her husband. Doesn't matter how bad she writes, he will still defend her. What a joke.
