American Idol - Episode 419 - #1 Billboard Hits - Page 2

Vonzell keeps improving, but she's still pretty much out of her league among this group.

I don't really see the appeal of Anthony at all.

For me, the biggest disappointments tonight were Nadia and Anwar. Nadia took a real chance with a Cyndi Lauper song and, while it was entertaining in a nostalgic kind of way, it wasn't up to the caliber of her previous performances. As for Anwar, I'm not sure what happened to him tonight, but his normally pitch-perfect voice was all over the place.

ZMethos: I don't know about Scott's weight; Ruben wasn't a small man, and he got a long way. Although Scott doesn't have the warm personality that Ruben had.

I agree that Nadia and Anwar were not up to their usual standards tonight. Kudos to them both for being risky in their choices, though.

Still, they weren't nearly the worst performers of the evening. In a night of relatively good, solid singers, the ones who fell behind were painfully obvious: Nikko and Mikalah.

Nikko sang something I'm not familiar with, so it was difficult for me to tell whether it was him or the song I was reacting to. I'm inclined to think it was the song, actually, since I do think Nikko has a decent voice and that he has been improving.

I don't like Mikalah Gordon, so it may be wishful thinking, but I do think her time is finally up. She did badly tonight; she was rocky and off key. I get the sense that she is mostly a bad imitator, rather than a person with a unique sound. Even if she did have a unique sound, I'd label it as nasal and unpleasant.

Scott: I agree that Nikko and Mikalah were both horrid tonight, and I'd add Anthony in to the mix as well. I predict that, collectively, these three will end up with the least votes tomorrow night. And, though it may be wishful thinking yet again, I'm betting Mikalah Gordon will be the one to go.

ZMethos: I won't attempt to guess which three people will be scraping the barrel tomorrow, but I agree that Mikalah is the likely loser on the results show.

Nice round up and I agree with most of your analysis.

My prediction is Bo and Nadia in the final show, and it's a toss up from there.

I do like that Constantine though :)

Thanks guys! Pretty much agree except I thought Nikko was quite good. Mikalah and Anthony should be the next to go - I have gone weary of them both and what I say goes, baby.
