This isn't a joke, it was an article in Us Weekly.
Us Weekly carries one small article about this incident, written by their writer Mark Cina. (May 9, 2005, Page 45) The article further says that she failed to appear in court and that her father challenged someone to a boxing match for saying she needs help.
How did this get left out of the media to the extent that it did? Sounds amazing.

I'd like to say it was bcause the media was covering something important, but that wasn't it.
Probably the Michael Jackson case or the Lindsey Lohan's dad getting arrested again.

I think that she benefited from Michael Jackson's situation. It's like they met their quota for weirdness. I like her acting, but I gotta know more about this.

Apparently her former landlord and friend wrote an article about her drug problems in Jane Magazine sometime in the Spring. Seems to be drugs. She looks like such a healthy Jewish girl (I'm Jewish), successful, it's hard to understand. Looks like crystal meth to me. When you're threatening your neighbor's dog, yup. She's so talented. Check out the Slums of Beverly Hills. Great movie. Her neighbor wrote a song for her that is posted on the IMDB. Moving.

Welcome. To go from the talent, and other qualities, needed to become an important actress to bursting into the your neighbor's apt to threaten their pet would seem to take some serious chemical assistance. It was theorized to be meth and heroin elsewhere by people that know more about it than me.
