So, where did we last leave our heroes and villains? Bill was âin holdingâ, perhaps playing Ouija with the Red Shirts? Paranoia was bearing down hard on Samwise â he was looking for Gollum under every protocol. Audrey and Chloe went off to the girlsâ room for cig break. Martha and Anya were giggling and boozing in the Motorcade â also doing the occasional body shot off of Yuri. âTreaty has been signed â letâs get it on!â Jack was dusting off his resume (read semi-automatic) to bring to Ominous-Cron (The Big Mother Holding Company that manufactured the Sentox Six)
And now; Hour Ten 4:00 â 5:00.
When Snakehead (Bierko) gets a call from an underling telling him that the ambush on the Subaruâs motorcade will take place in â40 minutesâ. I tell myself, âSelf â watch the clockâ. I then promptly forgot, and watched the show. Iâm not all that reliable, good thing I donât work at CTU, Chloe would have had me for breakfast. Anyway, cut to the Presidentâs retreat. Iâd been calling it the Western White House â but this time Iâm in a âretreatâ mood. So, Prez and Mike are wringing hands over what theyâve done â sending the Subarus to their death and all that â when Mike gets a call. Ew, he looks like he might vomit. Turns out that Martha is in the limo with Yuri and Anya!
To his credit, Prez Logan looks properly upset. Quite freaked actually. Ah, the time-honored conundrum that is 24. What to do, what to do. Mike seems quite happy to put an end to all this, and call the motorcade back. Prez wants to keep his word to a crappy terrorist. Oh big deal, so Snakehead will release a little nerve gas. So, itâs a few thousand people, who probably are NOT registered voters anyway (Are they Blue States? Red States? Nope â Dead States!) Martha and the Suburus are much more fun, lets get them back!
In the limo, Anya longs for orange groves, Yuri longs for more Stoli, and Martha longs for Valium or a noose, or both. Aaron Pierce, our Dudley Do-Right of a Swell Secret Service Dude whoâs been riding up front opens up the partition. âExcuse me, Mrs. Logan â sober up, hubbyâs on the phoneâ Martha takes the phone, Prez is on the other end, but she doesnât let him get much talking in. Instead she sends him Flank Two love and kisses and hangs up.

Love these reviews, Mary K. While I find this season more satisfying than last year, there are some interesting parallels.
1. Last year, Erin Driscoll (in charge of CTU for a short time) short-circuited due to her personal life and was pulled from command. This year, the same has happened to our friend Lynn.
2. The thing with the bomb happened last year too, and Jack survived. He's a whiz at survival.
3. There's always an "old friend" whom Jack once knew who turns bad (Stephen Saunders, Nina Meyers, Robocrap, etc.)
I am enjoying this season immensely and am waiting for Jack's first encounter with Snakehead. It should go the same way as last year's with Marwan. Jack will be imprisoned and escape and then later meet up with Snakehead and point a gun at him. As Jack said to Marwan last year, "I've been waiting for this."
Aren't we all?

Well thanks Victor!
And you know, your comments have the makings of a fine 24 post. Come join the fun.

Heehee. My favorites this week: Jack's resume (read semi-automatic); Ominous-Cron; Prez and Mike getting religion; the Scooby-Doo clan...
Like I said before, it helps to laugh...

I think 24 has some great guest stints (usually the guy gets killed in a couple of episodes though). I just realized (after watching episodes that I've recorded this season again) that the Nathanson guy was from a great show I used to watch on late night TV years ago: Forever Night. He played a reluctant vampire.
Anyone remember that?

No, I do not remember that one - but I have another one like that.
Late Tuesday afternoon, I was playing back throuh the tape of monday nights 24 ep. and while I was rewinding and fast forwarding - the channel I had on was showing an old ER episode. Guess who was playing "The Burn Doctor" - Our favorite Prez - Charles "Shakes/Nixon" Logan. (Gregory Itzen)
