Where did we last leave off Jack and Friends (and enemies)? Think Button, Crimini, Portobello, Shiitake. Remember? Unless you’re thinking shrooms, you’ll remember that episode Four ended with an unreal mushroom cloud suspended over Los Angeles. Or, perhaps think oranges, because the blast actually rocked about a square mile of Valencia. The realization that there could be as many as four more of these events occurring any time and anywhere in the U.S. was hitting our beloved CTU, Presidency, and some other folks (like the large-ish population of L.A.)
At the White House, President Wayne has been moved to the bunker situation room, naturally, and the top military honchos are urging striking back - of course. Lennox is allowed a rather smug moment, as he chastises an Admiral who inadvertently cut off President Wayne while he was speaking. “Don’t interrupt the President! Didn’t you ever see that Goldie Hawn movie, Protocol? Sheesh man!” And at CTU Chloe seems to be letting the pressure get to her, which is understandable, but it’s only hour Five! I can’t think of any other explanation for her asking such an inane question, “Why do people I know keep dying?” Honey, you work for CTU. A walk in a park - this is not.
And we move on. Hey, here’s Fayed driving through what is left of Wallace’s and Akkkmed’s neighborhood. It didn’t get blasted, but shock waves caused enough problems. How did he stay alive? Who is he talking to on the phone? Evidently this other guy with a vague Aussie accent had something to do with supplying Fayed with the triggering devices for the nukes. He is reluctant to help, but Fayed promises more dough. Hmm, maybe Aussie man will change his tune. Oh, man, look at this. There’s a helicopter that’s crashed on the roof of a house - oddly it looks like it’s part of a theme park.
There’s panic everywhere. Fayed has driven away, and now we see Jack in the crowd. He’s still reeling from having to off his friend Curtis. Someone runs up to him, yelling for help. Jack snaps out of his funk, and goes with the guy, who leads him to the same crashed chopper scene. The two climb up on the roof and Jack pries open the chopper door with a piece of antenna. Strange, I wouldn’t have though that’d work, but he gets the pilot out.

I think "Trust me, I'm not" was the season high point. I mean if he is doing that to this guy just to find out where his dad is, imagine what will happen when he learns his brother had Palmer and Tony and Michelle killed. This is going to be a great season!

I will admit I got all giddy at the prospect of Jack torturing his brother. ;)

I know... they sure know how to make it addicting!
Love seeing Gray/Graem/Graham Cracker with that bag on his face - the dirty lowdown no-goodnik!

The kicker is "Gray" tells Jack that he and the old man did everything they could to get him out of China. Let's just say that when Jack finds out the truth, and he will, "Gray's Anatomy" is going to be hurting big time
