The warm weather isn’t the only thing to celebrate this week— Cecile Raubenheimer goes inside Anthos, one of midtown’s brightest new restaurants. Anthos serves upscale Greek food—a cuisine largely represented in this town by greasy tavernas and generic dining rooms. The very chic and pretty Anthos, Greek for blossom, is decorated in a soft palette of pale pink and chocolate brown and delicate cherry blossom prints hang on the wall. This is the handywork of Donatella Arapia—formerly of Dona—and the executive chef is Michael Psilakis. The menu showcases modern interpretations of rustic Greek staples like a dressed-up greek salad, a tasting of crudo mezes, and grilled sirloin with spanakopita. Check out this video for a preview of the menu and flowery decor.
