The final 2004-2005 TV schedule was revealed for advertisers this morning from netlet UPN. In the battle between the two baby nets, it looks like the network will again be playing second fiddle to Warner Bros. Only three new shows are scheduled for Fall.
Monday starts with the return of One on One, Half & Half, and Girlfriends and concludes with the premiere of new sitcom Second Time Around.
All of Us and Eve likewise return on Tuesday, followed by Veronica Mars, a new show about a teenager girl who helps her father, a detective.
Wednesday will be the network’s centerpiece night with the return of its only hit, America’s Next Top Model. Kevin Hill, a drama starring Taye Diggs, will try to ride the coattails of the popular reality program.
Wrestling fans can continue to enjoy WWE Smackdown! on Thursday.
Friday features repeats of Top Model and welcomes Enterprise. While the network didn’t cancel the latest entry in the Star Trek franchise, it has essentially condemned the Scott Bakula-helmed show to a slow death in the wasteland of Friday night.
No new programming is scheduled for the weekend.
With such a paltry schedule, it’s not a stretch to say that UPN will again occupy the number six spot in the rankings.
