It's been 37 years since Kiss came screaming onto the music scene in full make-up and leather-strapped, metal-studded greatness. During that time they've achieved something that no other band has ever achieved. kiss_2010_tour_competition They've introduced the world to some of the most talented bands to ever cross the airwaves: AC/DC, Bon Jovi, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Motley Crue just to name a few.

The generosity they've shown to new bands, both in their own genre as well as acts outside the realm of heavy metal, like John Cougar Mellencamp and Rush, has given them a reputation as an unparalleled supporter of new musicians.

For their latest tour, titled The Hottest Show On Earth, Kiss, in association with Guitar Center, has announced an unprecedented opportunity for unsigned bands to make the jump from unknown to center stage on their nation-wide tour.

22 unsigned bands will get the opportunity to open for Kiss on the US leg of their Hottest Show on Earth Tour. Submissions for consideration began May 28th, but it's not too late for late-comers.     KISS plays the 1979 song Shandi in it’s entirety at the Barcelona show just a few days ago. This pop song is not part of the usual KISS set list; it’s great to see rarities pop up like this from time to time!
