My opinion of Bill O’Reilly is all over the map. Color me ambivalent.

On the one hand, I find his show to be highly entertaining. I think he’s a smart guy. I agree with him more often than I disagree. And I must admit to being converted by his proposal regarding capital punishment.

However, I also believe he is a pompous ass. He is an arrogant bully. He often says things that aren’t exactly true, but usually refuses to correct himself later. He talks down to his guests, and is less “fair and balanced” than he lets on.

Oh, and his writing is complete shit.

His non-fiction stuff is readable, but hardly well-written or particularly enjoyable. But his one attempt at fiction, Those Who Trespass, was utter garbage.

I won’t even bother to get into the plot. It was poorly-written. Its ending was anti-climactic. And throughout the “novel” one senses he is venting a murderous rage that he feels towards some of those he has encountered in his past. (I feel this man is more than a little dangerous. I would be unsurprised if he tried to strangle one of his guests someday…)

I recommend never wasting your valuable time to read this swill. Perhaps this will be the rare occasion where the movie is better than the book it is based upon.

I mean, it couldn’t be much worse.

When I first discovered Bill I loved him, he was the asshole plain and simple. And lets face it, assholes are always fun. But when he went on his self-righteous tirade against hip-hop and Ludacris without an iota of knowledge on the artist or music, he lost it.

To make him funnier he spewed the one phrase any person from meager beginnings (and present) loves to hear from someone like Bill. “I’ve been to the hood, I know wat it’s like” I’ve been to the mental Facility but I don’t know what it’s like to live there.

Bill believes because his family was poor and Irish (?) that makes him an expert on being without. Sorry Bill, no whiskey for you on that one.

Bill has a habit of talking over the guest that have him backed in a corner. He is so perceptive that he can talk you out of proving a point that proves him wrong. Again, assholes are fun.

I don’t mind him having an opinion thats what great about his show and his character but he hates to be wrong, ironically he refuses to believe he can be but that’s what becomes painful about watching him, therefore I don’t.
