The Plea which airs Thursday on Frontline on PBS (and will be online next week) makes you look at plea bargain and several convictions in a very different way. Past programs by the producer, Ofra Bikel, have resulted in innocenet people being freed from jail.

Hopefull, that will happen again because of tonight’s show. One person profiled already has been featured in the play, The Exonerated (and has even played himself). But Bikel’s documentaries go beyind individual cases to show systematic problems with the criminal justice system.

You can watch a number of Bikel’s past shows including An Ordinary Crime (which resulted in Terence Garner being freed) and Burden of Innocence,

And there are extensive websites for Requim for Frank Lee Smith and Snitch, Innocence Lost, Saving Elian (remember him?), and Failure to Protect
