Calling Jersey! The Orchestra (Former Members of E.L.O. and E.L.O. Part 2) would like to see you. If you're looking for that ideal break from the chaos of the city, here's the answer.
Take yourself off to the beautiful island of Jersey in the Channel Islands. Not only can you visit the lovely place but you can see some quality live music at the same time. The guys are playing two gigs at the Opera House, on the 5th and 6th of July. They have asked me to help spread the word and I am more than glad to do that as the band always put on a great night's entertainment.
They will be playing hits that you will know from the past along with some from their more recent, and highly recommended, albums as The Orchestra. So if you fancy the ideal getaway or you are lucky enough to live there already, get down to The Opera House. From previous personal experience this will be a night of quality music.
Additional news sees a new book, which is a photographic record of the recent Evening Without Kelly Groucutt. It is dedicated to the memory of Kelly, who was with E.L.O. from 1975 until 1982, and who sadly passed away earlier this year. It is beautifully produced and available in a variety formats.
Details of the gigs are available on The Orchestra's website. For information on the book, an excellent insight into the band, and a quarterly newsletter please visit the fan website. Also please see my Blogcritics article "A Tribute To Kelly Groucutt" which was published in April of this year.
