This week, W Scene takes you to The Kitchen, but don’t expect a hot plate. The Kitchen dishes out experimental art from emerging, under-the-radar artists.
Founded in 1971 as an artist collective, The Kitchen offers unique performances, lectures and exhibitions in various branches of the arts. Whether your interests lie in literature or the performing arts, you’re sure to get your fill at this non-profit Chelsea art space.
Though much of The Kitchen’s support comes from artists, art newbies shouldn’t be intimidated. The Kitchen’s programs can be appreciated at any level. At $10 a ticket, an evening at The Kitchen makes for a creative alternative to the ordinary movie night.
