The “Greatest Star” returns to her roots with a homecoming concert on Friday, November 29, 2013 at 9 p.m. as part of the PBS Arts Fall Festival.
The two hour performance will include nine hits from Streisand’s repertoire never performed on stage before among a mixture of 27 songs spanning her career. Backed by a 60-piece orchestra led by William Ross, Streisand will again enthrall the audiences with such timeless songs as “Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered”, “Enough is Enough (No More Tears)”, and “The Way We Were”.
The performance will also feature a video montages of Streisand’s beginnings in Brooklyn: Erasmus High School, the Loews Kings Theatre, the Dodgers, her yeshiva, Brighton Beach and Brooklyn Heights–all will feature in her reminiscences.
The performance set the stage for Streisand’s world tour with US stops in Chicago, Las Vegas, San Jose, and Los Angeles; and then in London, Amsterdam, Cologne, Berlin, and Tel Aviv. At each stop, Streisand drew praise. The New York Times observed, “Like few singers of any age, she has the gift of conveying a primal human longing in a beautiful sound.”
