Phonte Coleman and Nicolay have certainly been busy ever since they blessed the CMJ festival in New York back in October 2010. Back then, Authenticity was fresh off the creative presses and underground soul heads from all over came to listen to Zo!, Chantae Cann, Darien Brockington, and Jesse Boykins III throw down. Love and laughter was the result and The Foreign Exchange Music Group is down to do it again for Brooklyn!
That’s right. On Monday, June 4, 2012 at 8:00 p.m., The Bowery presents The Foreign Exchange at the Music Hall of Williamsburg. This time FE plans to bring Zo!, Sy Smith, and NC sensation Jeanne Jolly!
For those of you who’ve been in cryo-stasis since October 2010, Sy Smith and Jeanne Jolly contributed to the Foreign Exchange live album entitled Dear Friends: An Evening With The Foreign Exchange.
DJ Barry King is scheduled to start the show off right so be sure to get there early and eager. In preparation for the show, required homework must be completed though. Nicolay, Phonte, Zo!, Sy, and Jeanne have plenty of music for you to catch up on. Phonte, for one, managed to release his debut hip hop effort Charity Starts At Home. Meanwhile, Nicolay has been busy touring with FE guitarists’ jazz group The Hot at Nights, all while recording the free EP Shibuya Sessions.
I’m certain The Foreign Exchange will sample a bit from each featured artist as well as their own catalogue as well, so be sure to bring your passion for great music with you! Tickets can be purchased at the box office or on Ticketmaster.com.
