This week, George Oliphant heads out East to the Hamptons to sample some of this season’s hotspots. The sun is shining, the water is getting warmer, and the crowds are migrating to the East End to enjoy the latest and greatest.

George Oliphant offers this summer’s 1st/Look.

Designer emporium — not shop — would be a more apt term to describe Jeff Goldstein’s East Hampton digs. Blue and Cream sells the newest, coolest, latest styles for Hamptonites. This place is packed with hoodies, denim and limited edition sneakers for the guys and 3.1 Philip Lim, Mint, Development, and Foley for the ladies. This summer Blue and Cream is stocking it’s most exclusive collection yet, so be sure to stop in before July 4th or all the hot styles will be wasted on someone else.

In the space that used to be JL East, owner Jean-Luc, nee Ed Kleefield has opened the chicest Hampton’s steakhouse on the South Fork, promising a stylish, loungey atmosphere to enjoy prime cuts and – shocker!- good service.

The menu aims to please, with a vast sushi selection, 35 side dishes, a sprawling outdoor patio to idle away hot summer nights, fish right off the docks of Montauk and cuts of meat that include a Kobe beef burgers, porterhouse and dry-aged sirloin.

The lounge features draped cabanas, porch swings and tables for late night cocktails until 4am. With seating for over 200 and half-price sushi on Sunday nights, Prime 103 will definitely be one of this summer’s most coveted reservations.
