Tech Product Review: Power It – Portable Car Jump Starter & Device Charger

I’ve never been a car guy, and looking under the hood is for me is like seeing an alien creature drawn by H.R. Giger. So when I got the chance to review the new Power It Multi-Function Portable Car Jump Starter & Device Charger from Impecca, I leapt at the chance.

There are any number of occasions when my gadgets run out of juice, or, even worse, my car does. But now instead of calling AAA or waiting for a friend or good samaritan to save the day, I can take out a compact zipper pouch that holds all I need to get back on the road.

Inside is not only a portable battery but also cables with alligator clips, a switch cable with tip adapters for laptops, a micro-USB cable, a car charger, and a home power charger.

The battery itself has more than the single function of jumping your car. It also serves as an LED flashlight that can be changed from solid to blinking to spelling SOS in Morse code.

The Power It charger comes in a variety of sizes and charges, ranging from 8,000mAh for small to mid-size cars and SUVs ($79.95) all the way up to 36,000Ah for light trucks and RVs ($349.95).
