This week, a mayor heats up downtown Los Angeles, and we’ve got all you need for some poolside fun!
First it was Gladstones in Malibu, then The Original Pantry Downtown. Now former Mayor Richard Riordan is continuing to take over the foodie circuit with Riordan’s Tavern. An ode to the Northeast, the tavern has got some great classic steaks, chops, and a daily carvery special! Need I say more?

The best part of L.A. is that you can have pool parties all year round. Poolside, a new Santa Monica retro boutique is filling that need. Designer table sets, ice buckets, lounge chairs and even Vitamin A bikinis are just some of the handpicked pieces that are sure to complete any kitschy poolside gathering.

Speaking of the outdoors… Until October 28, Westwood’s W Hotel is offering free admission to its Poolside Sunday Summer Cinema. Enjoy classics like West Side Story while noshing on something from their backyard menu or homemade picnic baskets. Also, if you love food and supporting great causes, then you should definitely take part in the 6th Annual S. Pellegrino Dine Out. Until August 30, stop by one of the 27 participating top L.A. restaurants to enjoy a prix fixe menu, and $1 from your meal will go to Share Our Strength.

i am so glad to see that hotels in LA are offering pool side events for the summer. Anyone hear about Spa Luce? I just read somewhere that if you get a treatment there you can hang out at the Renaissance pool for the rest of the day without having to be a guest. Needless to say, I already signed up for their mailing list at spaluce.com so I can get discounts for the spa and get ready for my relaxing summer days! Hurry up summer!
