We shared an order of crème brulee which turned out to be a bit thin although no disappointment at all as far as flavor. The coffee was fresh and hot — stronger than most served here in the mountains and reminded me how much I miss Louisiana’s Community Coffee.
After dinner we visited the observation deck for a few photos and the gift shop where local artists are featured. We were shocked to discover no “FCEtier” prints for sale there, but you never know! Maybe one day!

My experiences at Pisgah Inn are not so glowing. I've been there many times and found the food to be adequate, but not great. Maybe I just have an average palate that can't detect really great food. I'll admit the view can't be beat, and the atmosphere is impressive. The food tends to have an artistic flair about it, too. But, I go for taste and I'm just not impressed. They should also expand their list of available vegetables.

I ate dinner at The Pisgah Inn Restaurant with a friend last Sunday, July 10, 2011. Each of us had the Pisgah Pasta, one with grilled chicken, one meatless. The flavors of the sauce were fantastic. "Mr Bill," our waiter, was very helpful, friendly, and provided the best service one could expect at such a beautiful place. The views from the dining area made me wish that I could stay forever. I heartily agree with the comments of FCEtier about the food, the restaurant and the service. May the "Kalmia" have a long, wonderful future.
