You come for the Kobe, but stay for the wagyu. Mere mortals can dish out $30 for a fine steak at any one of Manhattan’s new posh steak houses. But super-restaurateur Jeffrey Chodorow understands that Manhattan diners aren’t mortal. So he opened Kobe Club, complete with 2,000 Samurai swords dangling overhead in the dining room and $300 beef tasting flights.
Whether you mix and match from the American, Japanese and Australian beef cuts or have the chefs do it for you (The Emperor’s Flight is $295), your knives will be rendered useless. Yes, it’s that tender. But before you max out your credit card, watch Sara Gore learn the ways of the wagyu.
