LX.TV Restaurant Review: Insieme, and Provence, New York

June ushers in summer’s newest dining hotspots and this week Cecile Raubenheimer takes you inside. Modern and traditional Italian cuisine collide on one fantastic menu in Times Square, and a Soho mainstay gets a remake from one New York’s most popular chefs.

Insieme is a respite of calm in the chaos of Time Square and as executive chef, Craft alum, Marco Canora explains, the juxtaposition of old and new is more comforting than head-spinning. Head to Insieme to sample classic dishes like fritto misto from the Traditional menu and waygu beef “in brodo” from the Contemporary menu.

At Provence, one of Soho’s most popular restaurants offers an escapist dream with true French country style and a simple, seasonal menu from Mark Meyers of Cookshop and Five Points fame. Three delightful lavender-scented rooms are ready to idyll away a summer evening over a little rosé and a rustic plats au fromage.
