Food Review: Nestlé Tollhouse - Ultimates Chocolate Chip Lover

Selecting the perfect cookie dough is a very daunting task. First, you must consider what flavor you are in the mood for. Chocolate chip, peanut butter, sugar, the list has the potential to be infinite. Then the decision of the brand comes up, assuming that the cookies in question will not be made from scratch. Otis Spunkmire, Nestlé, Pillsbury, Mrs. Fields, what to choose? I recently went to the supermarket and picking at random, I selected Nestlé Tollhouse: Ultimates Chocolate Chip Lover. Nestlé Tollhouse brand is a top tier company and this branch of their cookie empire did not disappoint, it in fact exceeded expectations. The cookies are a good size and very moist but the best part about this cookie is the chocolate chips. One bite and your mouth is filled with chocolate bliss and the warm chocolate chips are present in every bite. It is nearly impossible to eat just one cookie and walk away. The smell is almost as enticing as the taste and once you try Nestlé Tollhouse: Ultimates Chocolate Chip Lover cookies, it will be hard to look at another chocolate cookie the same way again.

Nestlé was established in 1867 by Henri Nestle in Vevey, Switzerland, whose first products were infant foods. After opening an American factory in 1900, the company purchased Peter’s Chocolate Company and then created Friskie’s dried dog food in 1934. The company then turned towards the forever famous candy bar, the Nestlé Crunch bar in 1938. The Tollhouse cookies were not added to the Nestle repertoire until 1939, quickly becoming a favorite among Americans. After the immense success, Nestlé went on to acquire numerous companies, as well as creating products of their own. Nestlé Tollhouse Ultimates became available in August 2003 and the Chocolate Chip Lover is only one out of this collection. Chocolate Chips & Chunks with Pecans, White Chip Macadamia Nut, and Peanut Butter Cups, Chips & Chocolate Chunks were the three flavors that accompanied the Chocolate Chip Lover.

These are my absolute favorite chocolate chip cookies! They are better than any I have made by hand. I would love to recreate these from scratch though, so please let me know if anyone has any recipes which mimic these cookies. I have tried a few (including the one listed on bags of nestle chocolate chips) and none are up to par.
    Thank you!
