Once you’ve been to Ireland, it stays with you. Your blood might not run green, but your brain definitely remembers the landscape – lush vistas, extraordinary natural formations (Cliffs of Moher, the Burren), the friendly people, and of course the food. While you can buy Guinness beer anywhere in the world, and make your own Irish Brown Bread, you’ll find yourself longing for some of the delicious meals you ate in Ireland. Luckily for those of us who aren’t currently in Ireland, there are cookbooks that help you bring Ireland to your kitchen.

One such cookbook is by Jody Halsted, who publishes the website Ireland with Kids. Obviously, Jody can find her way around an Irish kitchen. She’s written an ebook, Favorite Irish Recipes, in which she shares nine of her favorite recipes. The book is beautifully illustrated with photos that make you long to go – or head back – to Ireland. The recipes include family favorites, as well as some new recipes. Of course you will find Colcannon and Irish Stew, but you may be surprised by Whiskey Corned Beef and Bailey’s Crème Brulee.
Each recipe has a photo of the finished dish, step-by-step instructions, and a list of easy-to-find ingredients. And the recipes are interspersed with photos showcasing the beauty of Ireland, from the Rock of Cashel to the Cliffs of Moher, the Ha’penny Bridge of the River Liffey to Glendalough, Wicklow Mountains.
Author and cook Jody Halsted has plenty of experience traveling with her family in Ireland – and bringing some of Ireland home to share with her readers. You can find this e-cookbook online. Don’t wait for St. Patrick’s Day to cook Irish – the deliciousness can last all year.

I had Bailey’s Crème Brulee at Reidy O'Neil's Restaurant in San Diego Very heavy on the egg yolk but oh so good. Folks I can say first hand this dish is ohh so good.
