Chicken Cordon Bleu Got Me Married

When my wife and I were dating fifteen years ago I made her Chicken Cordon Bleu. From that day forward I could not shake her loose and the end result was marriage. So guys, if you want to cook for a lady you like but don’t want to get married, turn back now. If not well then what the heck, this recipe is cheaper than a diamond ring.

Here are some things you will need:
Boneless skinless chicken breasts
6 eggs (approximately)
Breadcrumbs (preferably with Italian seasoning)
Vegetable or Olive Oil
1 pound Deli boiled ham
1 pound Swiss cheese
Toothpicks

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a deep pan, add about 1 inch of oil and heat on medium high. Cut the ham and Swiss cheese into small squares and add to a bowl and mix them together. Add breadcrumbs to one bowl and add six eggs to a second bowl and beat complete. If you only have plain breadcrumbs, add salt, pepper, parsley and basil.
If the chicken breasts are thick, cut them in half to make the whole breast thinner. Take plastic wrap and place over one breast. Use either a kitchen mallet or a drinking glass and pound the breast flat. The object is to stretch and thin out the breast. Repeat this process with all the breasts you have. Don’t pound the glass too hard. We do not want a kitchen accident to happen.

Now take your ham and Swiss cheese and lay it into the center of the breast. Roll the breast up tight and add three toothpicks to hold the chicken together in a roll shape while the ham and cheese are rolled inside. HINT: Use three toothpicks in every chicken. They will get buried and might be hard to find. You will now know you need to find three toothpicks. This rule should relieve the fear of choking on one.
