A Castle Full of Cheese – What's Not to Like? - Page 2

As well as master classes and demonstrations there is entertainment throughout the festival including live music, and for fun there are various cheese-themed games including cheese tossing and skittles. For those wishing to take away the flavours of the festival there will be the opportunity to try and buy at the cheese market.

Britain’s Biggest Cheese Market

The Festival is a unique opportunity to taste an array of British and Irish cheeses, many rarely found outside the village where they are made. With cheese makers represented in the market from all over the country, this is the focal point of the Festival. Discover the very latest stars announced at the British Cheese Awards the night before the Festival and rediscover Britain's great regional cheeses, from Dorset Red to Real Wensleydale, Caerphilly to Cheshire, not forgetting of course the classic English cheddar.

Heather Brown, Cardiff council event development officer, was quoted in Wales Online saying: “The fact that the Welsh love cheese does make it the perfect place for the festival.

“We’ve had visitors from all over the world. They are starting to think Wales is the true home of cheese.”
