The Take Action tour which raises money for the Kristin Brooks Hope Center raised $100,000 on this year’s tour. The tour’s aim is to support suicide prevention. This year there were 46 tour dates and it featured the bands Matchbook Romance, Early November, and Silverstein among others.
A judge in London’s high court has ruled that Apple Computer has not infringed on the trademark of Apple Corps. This is the third time that the companies have been to court, with Apple computer coming out on top this time. The ruling found that the iTunes store was not a move into the music business and a violation of the companies’ 1991 trademark agreement.
Ice Cube has lent his name and financial backing to a scholarship at the McNally Smith College of Music. The scholarship is designed for talented Minnesota students. The award will be handed out annually to at the school. The college offers degrees in music performance, Music Business and Recording Technology. Ice Cube stopped by the school to announce the scholarship taking a break from his Laugh Now, Cry Later tour.Powered by Sidelines
