Presented by WNBC and LX.TV, OpenHouse New York is an original weekly television series about New York's residential real estate market. Hosted by LX.TV's Sara Gore and George Oliphant, OpenHouse New York features weekly access to distinctive and noteworthy properties in the New York tri-state area. The show presents an intimate view of New Yorkers as they search for, purchase, and improve their dream homes.
Though it’s not yet on the market, in this week’s edition of Square Feet, broker Kathryn Clauss takes us inside the estate of fashion mogul Tommy Hilfiger. Hilfiger is set to put his eight-bedroom, 8.5 bathroom, 17,000 square-foot Greenwich, Connecticut home on the market for around $25,000,000. While that price tag unequivocally qualifies Hilfiger’s home as a dream home, it has every touch to justify that title.
Hilfiger’s home is decorated with, naturally, Tommy Hilfiger interior design products but they grace the walls of a classic American living room and library. The dining room boasts a Steinway piano to entertain throughout the course of a formal (or informal) dinner affair. The kitchen can turn anyone into a culinary expert. There are pasta faucets, wood-burning pizza ovens and all the Sub-Zero refrigerators your heart could desire.
The phenomenal design extends to the living quarters as well. The master bedroom has a walk-in closet fit for a fashion designer and the bedroom opens via two French doors leading to a beautiful terrace overlooking the spectacular grounds.
If you’re in the mood for fun, games or something in between, the home also has an indoor basketball court, tennis courts, a 2000-bottle wine cellar, and a meditation terrace. If you can’t find Zen peace at this home, you never will.
