This well-acted production is a collaborative project between Wild Rice's Ivan Heng who directs Singapore actors performing Malaysian texts and Malaysian theatre stalwart Jo Kukathas who takes the reins as director for Singapore texts performed by Malaysian actors.

Just as with the questions Dr. Chee faces in the play, do you stand up for what's right when the cost is so large? Is there a limit to how much cost you will bear? Will the limit be jail time, or harm to your family?

"I love watching traditional performances in Malaysia or Japan, where people feel quite comfortable talking or eating or sleeping through sections. I wish we could find a way to allow that again."
