'Awakening' delivers wildly muscular music with subtle, effective elegance rarely associated with metal. The result is contagious, textured melodies and weighty rhythmic components buffed to a sophisticated polish. In short, 'Awakening' is skillfully wrought music.

There’s a tasty stylish energy to 'Fire & Brew,' a combination of modern production, mature esthetics and the residual dynamism of polished R&B. The melody is suavely charming and Kai Exos’ voice glows with silky sultry quixotic colors. 'Fire & Brew' definitely deserves your attention.

'Eleven Nine' is a strong album, especially if you’re a fan of Neil Young. The melodies, although a bit lugubrious, are catchy, and Anders’ voice is easy to listen to. Whether you agree or disagree with the political implications, 'Eleven Nine' is worthwhile simply for the music.

Based on the 'Your Prettiness' appetizer, 'Blue Flame' promises to be a yummy presentation of roots-blues music that will boil your blood and leave you panting for more. Peter Karp knows how to bring heat to the blues.

'Fall Into You' is beautiful, deliciously haunting, and wistful. The melody surges with flooding sparkling energy as well as an aura of desire and hope. And McGrath’s marvelously persuasive tones heighten the romantic susceptibility. 'Fall Into You' is a must-listen-to song.

Hama Sankare's 'Ballebe: Calling All Africans' is a great example of Malian desert blues.

'Who Can You Trust' is better than good and approaches excellence. The darkwave/pop/rock melodies present a beguiling luster, while the rhythms project heady infectious attributes. The combination of undulant melodies and Arden’s delectable voice makes 'Who Can You Trust' enjoyable listening.

'Broken Bird' is sumptuously enchanting. The melody fizzes with glinting sonic expression, while the rhythmic pulse adds broad-spectrum gravitational pull. And Kim’s textured spiraling vocals give the music a sonorous deliquescence quivering with colorful blushes.

'Stay in America' is simply superb! The contagious melody hooks you in, while the rhythm infects your emotional response, inducing you to move to the music and sing along.

'Thank You for the Music' is stellar, as it imparts a stylish, imaginative overview of the greatest names and stylistic nuances of jazz.
